Timofei Yakhnov

Timofei studies with Denis Bystrov at Music School at the St. Petersburg Music College named after N. Rimsky-Korsakov.

He was prize winner of: the VII Silver Tuning Fork International Competition for Instrumental, Choir and Vocal Music Players (St. Petersburg, 2012, III prize), II Petersburg Heritage International Competition (2013, I prize), Christmas Wind International Festival-Competition for Children and Young Adults Wind Instruments Players (St. Petersburg, 2013, I prize), IV and VI Silver Trumpets Open All-Russian Competition-Festivals for Young Wind and Percussion Instruments Players named after V. Blazhevich (Moscow, 2013, II prize; 2015, Grand Prix), VII Silver Sounds All-Russian Open Children and Youth Festival for Wind and Percussion Instruments Players (Petrozavodsk, 2014, I prize), V and VI Polyphonica International Competitions for Contemporary Sacred and Polyphonic Music Players (St. Petersburg, 2014, Grand-Prix; 2015, I Prize), XXIII D. Shostakovich International Competition-Festival of Children’s Musical Creativity (St. Petersburg, 2015, I prize). Timofei was diploma winner of the XV Nutcracker International TV Contest for Young Musicians (Moscow, 2014). He participated in master classes of  А. Readeal, L. Haddadi, А. Ogrinchuk, Y. Likin, G. Vitt.

Timofei plays in ensemble as well as with youth symphony orchestra. He practices the piano and vocal additionally. He plans to master the oboe d’amore, the baroque oboe and the oboe da caccia in future. At his free time he is fond of riding a bike.
